Local Attractions
VILLAGE
OF CAMBRIA: The
quaint village of Cambria offers
a wealth of art galleries, eclectic shops, and award winning restaurants.
Cambria is split up into three sections, East Village,
West Village, and Moonstone Beach. East village is comprised of beautiful
old Victorians houses that date back to the 1870s. Many of these are
now home to art galleries, shops, boutiques, bookstores, fine restaurants
and inns. The West Village, which is located around Main Street and
closer to the ocean, also offers charming streets lined by similar
attractions. Moonstone Drive follows the coast on a scenic loop that
parallels Highway 1. It offers a variety of lodging and some dining
options. Moonstone Beach is made up of small pebbles, polished smooth
by the sea. Spend some time combing the sand for driftwood and gemstones;
you're sure to find hidden treasures including jasper, jade, and the
moonstone agates for which the beach is named.

Clearly one of the most fascinating attraction in Cambria
is
NITT WITT RIDGE. This
eclectic Historical Landmark was built by Art Beal,
a junk collector who constructed this house almost entirely out of
salvaged materials. Art started building his castle in 1928 and continued
construction for almost 51 years before ceasing. Art
died in 1992 at the age of 96. Michael and
Stacey O'Malley now own and care for the property. They do
give guided tours, but please phone ahead of time to set up an appointment.
The O'Malley's can be reached at 805/927-2690.

of Point Piedras Blancas. Fifteen years later, the colony of Elephant Seals
has an estimated population of over 10,000. Last year alone there were
over 2600 births. These mammals are a must see for any Central Coast visitor
and are locate approximately 14 miles north of Cambria. Please
visit the Friends
of the Elephant
Seal for more information!

WINERIES:
To make your visit complete, a tour of the Paso Robles Wine Country offers dozens
of outstanding wineries situated in the nearby hills between the coast and Paso
